Being two bona fide caffeine addicts, most of our Saturday and Sunday mornings are spent bargaining for who will brave the great outdoors and walk to the closest bodega or Starbucks to grab the coffees. A few days ago, Nick mentioned stopping into a new coffee shop he noticed around the corner called Perk Kafe. Drawn in by the bright sunroom out front, he ordered an iced coffee, promptly decided it was amazing and that we had to go this Saturday.
The cafe's decor is adorable and welcoming, combining the white-washed front room with darker woods and exposed brick as you make your way in. The centerpiece of the bar is a bright red vintage "Perk" sign on the wall. We ordered two large iced coffees, eyed the lavender and vanilla cookies on the counter, and posted up at the big window in the sunroom.
Nick was right, the coffee was amazing. After getting all perked up, we headed on over to the Brooklyn Flea to enjoy the weather and go treasure hunting. More on that to come!
Check out Perk Kafe at 162 E 37th Street (off of 3rd Ave) and like them on Facebook.
Till next time,
Amanda
